About The Position

ProHealth Physicians, part of the Optum family, is seeking a friendly, patient-focused, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist. This full-time position (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday) supports the care team and patients by managing front-desk operations, including greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments, handling phone inquiries, collecting payments, and maintaining patient information. The role involves routine use of the electronic health record (EHR) and may require floating to local practices for coverage. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of receptionist or customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a primary care setting
  • Experience working with EPIC

Responsibilities

  • Conduct check-in and check-out process
  • Answer incoming calls and use EHR to document details of patient inquiries
  • Conduct outreach to patients requiring appointments or service follow-up
  • Schedule appointments using standard scheduling protocols
  • Manage administrative in-basket pools and work queues
  • Scan documents into the EHR per standard protocols
  • Balance payments and prepare deposits
  • Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal and financial information
  • Provide coverage at other ProHealth locations on an ad hoc basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned
