About The Position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist to join their Primary Care Frontline team. This role is crucial in making an impact on the care and experience that patients and their families receive. The position involves supporting both call center and front desk operations. In the call center, the primary responsibility is to rapidly and accurately answer and respond to incoming telephone calls from patients and/or employer groups, meeting department-specific agent expectations and following defined guidelines. At the front desk, the role primarily involves greeting patients, collecting co-pays, scheduling follow-up appointments and referrals, and supporting departmental clerical duties. Both areas will provide support to the department/site, ensuring quality service through timely and courteous assistance, maintaining patient confidentiality, providing excellent customer service, completing work in a timely and professional manner, supporting process improvement and organizational changes, identifying self and department in all phone interactions, accepting additional related tasks, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. The Golden Valley clinic is a medium-sized Primary Care clinic offering Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Laboratory services, and also shares space with the Eye Department. The frontline team is responsible for checking in/registering patients for Primary Care, Laboratory, and the Eye Department. Additional tasks include patient outreach for scheduling and rescheduling, sending pre-appointment letters, sorting and distributing faxes and mail, and lobby maintenance. As a frontline team member, you will operate as part of the care team including MAs, LPNs, RNs, PAs, and MDs.

Requirements

  • 6 months related experience
  • Accurate computer/keyboarding skills required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of the following types of equipment: telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photo copier and fax machine.
