About The Position

Dermatology Specialists of Brighton is seeking a friendly, professional, full-time Front Desk Medical Receptionist for their busy Dermatology practice. This role involves providing outstanding service to patients, managing the reception area, coordinating patient flow, and handling administrative tasks. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One to two years of prior medical customer service and administrative experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, practice management, EMR, copiers, personal computers, printers, facsimiles, telephone.
  • 1 year of experience with EMR systems (Required)
  • 1 year of medical receptionist experience (Required)
  • 1 year of customer service experience (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and clients in person and on the telephone in a professional, timely, and friendly manner.
  • Answer telephone: Screen, triage, and route calls. Take accurate messages, answer questions regarding hours of operation, location of practice, services provided, fees, verification of insurance benefits, and financial questions.
  • Organize daily patient flow by providing accurate appointment data, pulling files of scheduled patients, coordinating incoming patient flow via electronic medical records system, and notifying back office of arrivals.
  • Maintain medical records, HIPAA documentation including letters, photographs, office notes, and referrals as assigned.
  • Enter patient data into the EMR database and appointments into the scheduling system.
  • Maintain tracking list of no shows, cancellations, late arrivals, and missed appointments.
  • Inform patients of the office's payment policy and procedures, and collect patient payments in accordance with the time-of-service payment policy.
  • Work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, medical and back office staff, and physicians to provide professional and high standards of patient service/care.
  • Adhere to scheduled work and break hours to ensure adequate front desk coverage.
  • Perform other related duties as needed and assigned.
