About The Position

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) welcomes incoming patients at CityMD and provides exemplary customer service. The role registers patients, coordinates with the care team to support timely patient turnaround, responds promptly and kindly to patient questions and concerns in person and by telephone, and completes registration paperwork. The position also supports patient intake, appointments, medical records, insurance processing, and payments.

Requirements

High school degree or GED.
Happy, welcoming, can-do attitude with patients and coworkers.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Detail-oriented and a team player.
Computer proficiency and superior keyboarding skills, approximately 55 wpm.
Flexible and adaptable to a continuously evolving environment.
Passion for helping others in a healthcare environment.
Ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients, and other staff members.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a high-volume or high-intensity service industry, such as hospitality, restaurant, hospital, medical office, or retail.
Bilingual language skills, required or preferred depending on site location.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients.
Organize and coordinate patient intake and other appointments.
Accurately enter and update patient information in the system.
Assist patients with completing paperwork when necessary.
Scan, update, and file medical records.
Answer phone calls and respond to questions promptly and politely.
Process medical insurance information, verify patient eligibility, and address insurance questions, liaising with the Billing department as appropriate.
Handle cash and co-payments accurately and responsibly.
Provide outstanding customer service to every patient.
Inform the site manager or assistant site manager about waiting room wait times, patient inquiries, and related matters.
