About The Position

Valley Medical Group is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join their Family Practice team at the Amherst Medical Center. This is a dynamic role serving a diverse community of over 55,000 patients across four locations in the Pioneer Valley. The position involves phone and portal management, including answering calls, documenting messages, queueing medications, and relaying information from Providers to patients. Additionally, the role requires managing reception inboxes and portal messages, responding to inquiries, and scheduling appointments.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED
  • 2 or more years of customer service experience
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a medical receptionist or other front office experience preferred
  • Experience working in an electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Experience with multiline phones

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Patient check in: obtain demographic information, insurance verification, collect payments, provide necessary forms
  • Patient check out: schedule follow-up appointments
  • Document all interactions in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
