About The Position

Square Care Medical Group, in partnership with Unified Women’s Healthcare New York, is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Medical Receptionist for their Woodbury ObGyn practice. Square Care Medical Group is the largest women's health organization on Long Island, with 70 providers across 20 locations. The Medical Receptionist will perform various administrative tasks to ensure the practice runs efficiently, including patient registration, insurance verification, health record maintenance, appointment scheduling, answering phones, and data entry. This role is crucial in promoting a positive patient experience aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience working as an administrative assistant or relevant role a plus
  • Friendly, compassionate and energetic disposition
  • Courteous to all patients and visitors
  • Contributes to a positive and caring workplace culture
  • Works well in a team setting as well as independently
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Office365 (Word, Excel, etc.) knowledge required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required

  • Electronic Health Record experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients, visitors, and outside vendors to the medical practice
  • Patient registration and appointment scheduling
  • Scanning and processing patient health information in EHR
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility
  • Collect and process patient balances
  • Obtain prior authorization for office visits, and radiology services
  • Answer patient questions and provides assistance and directions when necessary
  • Process messages within EHR for patients and providers relating to patient care
  • Performs other duties as needed
  • Maintains all compliance standards as determined by the Medical Group
