About The Position

ProHealth Physicians, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a friendly, patient-focused, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join their Pediatrics team. This full-time position (40 hours/week) involves supporting the care team and patients by greeting and checking them in, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, collecting payments, and maintaining demographic information. The role requires routine use of the electronic health record (EHR) according to ProHealth policies and standard workflows. The position may involve floating to local practices for coverage as needed. Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years of receptionist experience in a medical setting
• Intermediate level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Access to reliable transportation & valid US driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting
• Experience working with an electronic health record

Responsibilities

• Conduct check-in and check-out process
• Answer incoming calls and use EHR to document details of patient inquiries
• Conduct outreach to patients requiring appointments or service follow-up
• Schedule appointments using standard scheduling protocols
• Manage administrative in-basket pools and work queues
• Scan documents into the EHR per standard protocols
• Collect copays and balance payments
• Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal and financial information
• Provide coverage at other ProHealth locations on an ad hoc basis
• Perform other duties as assigned
