About The Position

NOMS Healthcare is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist for their Family Practice in Concord, Ohio. The medical receptionist is responsible for greeting patients, providing information, communicating with departments, and scheduling appointments, all while conveying a positive image of the medical office. Requirements

High school graduation or GED.
Typing ability and Word processing/computer skills.
Minimum of one-year experience in a customer service setting.
Experience with office equipment.
Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
Knowledge of reception tasks, clinic policies/procedures, and paperwork.
Knowledge of how to use office equipment including phone and computer.
Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques.
Knowledge of business office procedures.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information.
Skills in using office equipment satisfactorily.
Skills in handling paperwork/filing adequately.
Skills in customer service principles by creating a pleasant waiting room atmosphere.
Skills in answering the telephone and using a multi-line telephone system in a pleasant and helpful manner.
Ability to communicate clearly in person.
Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff, and other customers.
Ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and multitask effectively.
Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.

Nice To Haves

Preferably six months’ receptionist experience in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

Comply with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies.
Greet patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner.
Distribute forms for patient completion via clipboard or electric devices.
Update and maintain correct patient data and insurance information.
Collect co-pays or outstanding balances owed.
Answer phones in a pleasant manner, screen calls, take messages, and provide information.
Scan documents using a copy machine or desktop scanner, identify documents, process the fax folder, and file in appropriate folders/charts.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
Complete necessary paperwork such as encounter forms.
Use a computer system to generate information necessary for billing.
Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly waiting area, including the beverage area and reading materials.
Assist with scheduling testing/procedures and patient appointments with other physicians as directed.
Book, coordinate, and reschedule patient appointments, and relay necessary messages to staff.
Maintain and update current information on physician’s schedules, ensuring patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.
Assist with overseeing the area, coordinate patient movement, and report problems or irregularities.
Attend meetings as required.
Assist in the care and maintenance of office equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
