About The Position
Join Allied Physicians Group as we expand pediatric urgent care services across Suffolk and Nassau County. We are looking for Medical Receptionists who thrive in fast-paced environments, stay organized under pressure, and genuinely enjoy helping children and their families. As the first face families see, you'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate experience from check-in through check-out. You'll help keep patient flow moving while supporting providers, clinical staff, and families in a high-energy pediatric urgent care setting.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of medical receptionist experience preferred
- Bilingual English and Spanish Required
- Pediatric or urgent care experience strongly preferred
- Experience verifying insurance and collecting patient payments
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Experience with EMR systems required (athenaOne experience a plus)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional, compassionate, and team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities
- Welcome and check in pediatric patients and their families
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect required documentation
- Schedule appointments and manage patient registrations
- Collect co-pays and process payments accurately
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient inquiries
- Coordinate patient flow between the front desk and clinical team
- Maintain accurate patient demographics and electronic medical records
- Obtain required authorizations and complete registration paperwork
- Deliver exceptional customer service while creating a positive experience for every family
