About The Position

Spectrum Vision Partners / OCLI Vision is seeking a friendly, organized, and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our team! As a key member of our front office, you'll help create a positive patient experience while supporting appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient registration, and daily administrative operations.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, including professional email communication.
• Strong communication, multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to confidently and compassionately discuss patient balances, deductibles, and financial responsibilities.
• Positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work Saturdays based on office needs.

Nice To Haves

• Medical reception experience preferred.
• Experience with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and basic medical billing preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems (NextGen preferred) and insurance platforms such as Clearwave.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, manage check-in/check-out, answer incoming calls, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Schedule, cancel, and modify appointments while managing provider schedules and coordinating patient needs.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain referrals through insurance portals, and navigate verification platforms such as Clearwave.
• Collect copays, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other out-of-pocket expenses. Professionally discuss financial responsibilities and address basic billing questions.
• Communicate with clinical teams and other office locations to support patient flow and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate patient records, utilize EMR systems, and communicate professionally through phone and email.
