About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Administrative Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients promptly and courteously, verifying personal and insurance information.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical staff.
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
  • Assist with insurance verification, billing inquiries, and processing patient payments.
  • Coordinate referrals and authorizations with insurance companies and healthcare providers.
  • Manage waiting room flow to minimize patient wait times and optimize appointment schedules.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support daily operational needs and special projects.
