About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Site Manager and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Medical Receptionist serves as an important first point of contact for patients receiving care through our Walk-In Primary Care Services. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing friendly, professional, and efficient front-desk support while ensuring patient information is accurate and complete.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be available to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and a welcoming, patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to accurately complete tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Dependable, motivated, and willing to assist other team members as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and respectful service to underserved and diverse patient populations.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of medical office or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Previous electronic health record (EHR) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients and accurately collect demographic and insurance information.
  • Verify and update patient insurance and contact information.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
  • Collect copayments, patient balances, and other applicable fees.
  • Provide patients with appropriate forms and assist with the completion of required documentation.
  • Collect information necessary for accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow applicable privacy and organizational policies.
  • Provide professional and compassionate customer service to patients and families.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Assist other team members as needed to support efficient daily operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
