Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical practice patient care.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with patients, physicians, managers, co-workers and contacts external to the practice.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.

Nice To Haves

  • medical assistant or medical administration: 1 year (Preferred)
  • BLS/CPR (Preferred)Or within one (1) month of employment

Responsibilities

  • Answer multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller’s needs yourself
  • Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in, collect completed paperwork as necessary.
  • Provide patients with copies of our office policies and legally required documents
  • Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on Physician and PA/NP availability
  • Schedule patient orders based on the Physician and PA/NP recommendations
  • Maintain electronic health records
  • Call patients to reschedule them of upcoming appointments and to help them schedule testing for off-site services
  • Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested including annual HIPAA and OSHA training. Maintains work area according to OSHA guidelines.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
