About The Position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist to join our Primary Care Frontline team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. This role primarily involves greeting patients, collecting co-pays, scheduling appointments and referrals, and supporting departmental clerical duties. The team sees approximately 100 patients a day from birth to end of life and collaborates to ensure excellent patient experience and high quality patient measures. The primary care department provides a wide range of services including yearly physicals, Medicare wellness visits, pre-ops, general office visits, video and phone visits, in-clinic procedures, well-child visits, and nurse visits. The role requires excellent customer service, organization, and computer skills.

Requirements

  • 6 months related experience
  • Accurate computer/keyboarding skills required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of the following types of equipment: telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photo copier and fax machine.

  • Rapidly and accurately answering and responding to incoming telephone calls from patients and/or employer groups.
  • Greeting patients with a warm welcome.
  • Checking in patients.
  • Assisting patients with scheduling needs.
  • Patient forms management.
  • Follow up phone calls to patients.
  • Electronic medical record tasks.
  • Problem solving.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality to protect patient rights.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Completing defined work in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supporting on-going process improvement and organizational/department changes.
  • Identifying self and department in all phone interactions.
  • Accepting additional related tasks.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
