About The Position

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers is seeking a friendly, self-motivated, and compassionate Medical Receptionist to support patient care at its urgent care centers in Maryland. The role provides patient registration and administrative support in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on exceptional customer service and a positive patient experience. Candidates must be able to work shifts of 13 or more hours and have scheduling flexibility, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of customer service experience; medical-setting experience is preferred.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and coworkers.
• Strong customer service skills and a high level of professionalism.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to comply with the company travel policy.
• Ability to work shifts of 13 or more hours, stand or walk for long periods, and lift 25 pounds.
• Scheduling flexibility, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Administrative Assistant license or certification is preferred.
• Experience in a medical setting is preferred.
• Experience with medical office software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, update demographic information, verify insurance information, and maintain accurate records in the EMR.
• Answer telephone calls, record messages, and redirect calls as needed.
• Collect patient payments and manage payment transactions.
• Assist with faxes, emails, and office organization.
• Maintain a clean and professional office environment and a welcoming waiting area.
