About The Position

The Southern Seminary Campus Clinic is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist to support the Clinic Director and medical staff. This role involves managing the front desk, greeting and scheduling patients using the electronic record system, maintaining financial records, and general office organization. The position requires a bachelor's degree and experience with computers, computer programs, and administrative tasks, preferably in a medical setting. This role will supervise other medical receptionists and report to the Clinic Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with computers and computer programs
  • Administrative experience, preferably in a medical setting
  • Thorough understanding of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Ability to quickly learn scheduling procedures
  • Ability to discern the appropriateness of a visit and type of visit

Responsibilities

  • Primary point person who answers the phones, directs calls to the appropriate staff, and provides information about the clinic.
  • Handle calls requesting appointments.
  • Manage the clinic's Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and schedule patients appropriately.
  • Greet patients and family members, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Assist medical staff in maintaining the clinic's schedule.
  • Maintain clinic medical records using the campus clinic's electronic medical record system.
  • Scan, upload, and fax paperwork to keep records updated.
  • Discern the appropriateness of visits and schedule patients with the correct provider.
  • Assist the Clinic Director in maintaining clinic bills and expenses.
  • Pay bills using the clinic P-Card and write check requests.
  • Assist the Clinic Director and medical staff in maintaining office and medical supplies.
  • Submit prior authorizations for insurance purposes as time allows.
  • Provide follow-up calls to patients as directed by the Clinic Director.
  • Assist other office staff (medical receptionists, providers, nursing staff, and clinic director) as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
