The Medical Receptionist I position is responsible for greeting and registering incoming patients, accurately collecting and entering demographic and insurance information, confirming and scheduling appointments, and managing financial aspects such as collecting copayments, verifying insurance, explaining financial requirements, and entering payments. The role also involves handling incoming telephone calls professionally. Additionally, the Medical Receptionist I may process and follow up on referrals, initiate authorization requests for patient services, verify benefits, document authorizations, communicate authorization status to medical staff, and schedule referral appointments for tests, procedures, and follow-up. This role is within an Urgent Care setting, which operates 365 days a year from 7 AM to 7 PM.
