About The Position

Ultimately, this role supports the operational efficiency of the healthcare facility by acting as the first point of contact and a reliable liaison between patients and medical teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a medical reception or call center environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and appointment scheduling software.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare terminology and patient privacy regulations (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients seeking appointments, information, or assistance.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Provide clear and courteous communication regarding office policies, procedures, and patient instructions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to relay messages, update patient records, and ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy, escalating complex issues to supervisors or clinical staff as appropriate.
  • Document call details and patient interactions thoroughly and accurately in the system.
