About The Position

Our Nuclear Medicine department is recognized for its significant size, advanced equipment, and the strong teamwork among its staff. We are equipped with six gamma cameras, a bone density machine, three hot labs, and a dedicated PET department, enabling us to serve patients not only locally but across all of Northern Ontario. The department is situated in a spacious, bright facility with large windows and pleasant rooms, fostering a welcoming environment for patients and staff. In our Nuclear Medicine and PET department, you can expect a dynamic and varied workload, performing a wide range of procedures including bone scans, WBC scans, thyroid uptakes and scans, thyroid ablation therapies, renal scans, V/Q scans, gastrointestinal studies, and cardiac studies. We also conduct bone density tests and oncology PET scans, offering exposure to diverse technologies and patient care. Further advancements are planned for 2026 with the replacement of two older gamma cameras with state-of-the-art technology, including a StarGuide camera and a second 870 CZT system, to enhance diagnostic precision and patient care throughout Northern Ontario. This posting is intended to identify potential candidates for future opportunities, including part-time and casual roles.

Requirements

Minimum of a three (3) year Advanced Diploma in Molecular Imaging, from an accredited college.
Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist of Ontario (CMRITO).
Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.
Candidates expected to obtain registration in the next few months and recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures such as bone scans, WBC scans, thyroid uptakes and scans, thyroid ablation therapies, renal scans, V/Q scans, gastrointestinal studies, and cardiac studies.
Conduct bone density tests.
Perform oncology PET scans.
Operate and maintain gamma cameras, bone density machines, and hot lab equipment.
Utilize state-of-the-art technology for diagnostic precision and patient care.
