About The Position
This is a Talent Pool posting for all current MRT, General Radiography X-Ray vacancies. All external applicants will be reviewed monthly to interview for all full time, part time, temporary, and casual opportunities that arise in the next 12-months. The General Radiography team supports imaging services across the hospital serving inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients. This includes mobile, surgical and intraoperative imaging, as well as fluoro-guided procedures along side radiologists and other specialties. Successful applicants will be cross-trained in Computed Tomography and shifts will be allocated in both modalities. Requirements
- CMRITO registration
- Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
- Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
Nice To Haves
- CAMRT certification with current membership
- Related technologist experience in a hospital environment
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to perform general radiography procedures in multiple settings using advanced systems and equipment in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures
- Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices
- Effectively communicate with inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teams
- Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting
- Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring, as required
- Fulfill on-call requirements/obligations, as required
- Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases, as required
