About The Position

This is a Talent Pool posting for all MRT, General Radiography X-Ray vacancies. UHN is Canada’s #1 hospital and a leading research hospital. The Medical Imaging department is one of the largest academic medical imaging departments in Canada, utilizing cutting-edge digital technology. The General Radiography team supports imaging services across the hospital for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients, including mobile, surgical, intraoperative imaging, and fluoro-guided procedures. Successful applicants will be cross-trained in Computed Tomography and shifts will be allocated in both modalities. UHN is committed to innovation, research, education, and patient care, and is affiliated with the University of Toronto and the Michener Institute of Education.

Requirements

  • CMRITO registration
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
  • Related technologist experience in a hospital environment, an asset
  • Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to perform general radiography procedures in multiple settings using advanced systems and equipment in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures
  • Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices
  • Effectively communicate with inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting
  • Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring, as required
  • Fulfill on-call requirements/obligations, as required
  • Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases, as required
