About The Position

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Asheville, NC team. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for a medical provider who is passionate about behavioral health, addiction medicine, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve. This provider will primarily support the Asheville program in person while also providing virtual clinical support to clients at the Jacksonville, NC facility as needed to ensure continuity of care and access to medical services across Pyramid Healthcare programs.

Requirements

  • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, detox, or substance use treatment preferred
  • Strong assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Comfortable providing both in-person and virtual patient support
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, recovery-focused care

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive history and physical assessments for new admissions
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients within scope of practice
  • Review laboratory results, monitor patient health status, and manage medical concerns
  • Provide medical oversight and support for adult behavioral health and substance use treatment programs
  • Provide virtual medical support for Jacksonville-area clients when needed
  • Manage medications, including prescribing when applicable based on licensure and authority
  • Complete admissions, progress notes, discharge documentation, and medical orders
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, psychiatrists, therapists, and clinical teams to support comprehensive treatment planning
  • Coordinate care with outside providers and community resources when needed
  • Assist with medication management, prior authorizations, and continuity of care planning
  • Participate in quality improvement and peer review processes
  • Provide patient-centered, ethical, and evidence-based medical care
  • Perform other duties as assigned
