About The Position

This role is responsible for marketing, negotiating, and placing new and renewal Medical Professional Liability accounts. The position involves coordinating and managing renewal timelines, monitoring applications and policy documents, and maintaining expertise in medical malpractice markets and healthcare exposures. The individual will collaborate with team members on renewal strategy, develop carrier and broker relationships, and prepare various marketing and presentation materials. The role also includes identifying cross-selling opportunities, maintaining accurate documentation, delivering exceptional service, and acting as a resource for specialty coverages. Additionally, the position involves reviewing claims data and assisting with carrier reporting, as well as supporting miscellaneous duties as requested to expand and grow in the role.

Requirements

  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) License required.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance experience; Medical Professional Liability experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical malpractice insurance products and healthcare risks.
  • Experience managing account marketing and renewal processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; EPIC experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Methodical, yet swift decision-making skills.
  • Precise verbal and written communication skills, even under time constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Market, negotiate, and place new and renewal Medical Professional Liability accounts.
  • Coordinate and manage renewal timelines and critical deadlines.
  • Monitor applications, policy documents, and group schedules as applicable.
  • Maintain expertise in medical malpractice markets, coverage forms, and healthcare exposures.
  • Collaborate with team members on renewal strategy and marketing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and wholesale brokers.
  • Prepare proposal comparisons, marketing summaries, annual claim summaries and renewal presentations.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and upsell accounts as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and agency systems.
  • Deliver exceptional service to clients, producers, and carrier partners.
  • Act as a resource for Specialty coverages in this class of business for the agency.
  • Review claims data and assist in Lawley claims representative on appropriate carrier reporting.
  • Expand and grow in your role when supporting miscellaneous duties as requested.
