About The Position

Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for a medical practice within Nuvance Health. This role is full-time, with working hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The position is located in Danbury, CT. Northwell is the largest not-for-profit health system in the Northeast, serving residents of New York and Connecticut with 28 hospitals and over 1,000 outpatient facilities. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred.
  • Data Entry skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
  • Minimum Experience: Six months.
  • Ability to travel between practices as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
  • Ensures accuracy of patient's information, including demographics and insurance.
  • Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, and assures accurate communication both verbally and via the EMR system.
  • Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
  • Schedules and reschedules appointments according to office protocols.
  • Monitor applications and manage worklists as applicable.
  • Collects co-pays and reconciles money for deposit.
  • Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
  • Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation where applicable.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Maintains and Models the Organization values.
  • Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
