About The Position

Ensure high-quality patient care by maintaining radiation-producing sources and imaging equipment while rigorously protecting staff and patients. Conduct necessary equipment calibrations and implement quality control procedures to maintain imaging device performance standards. Develop and recommend radiation safety procedures for relevant clinical areas, including ongoing education for staff on safety practices. Evaluate and justify the procurement of new medical equipment and products to support departmental needs. Provide comprehensive physics support for patient treatment, including dose calculations, radiation oncologist consultations, and the design of treatment aids.

Requirements

  • Medical Physicist specializing in Therapeutic Radiology credentialed from the Florida Council of Medical Physicists obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date required. Must be board eligible upon hire or job transfer date.
  • Medical Physicist specializing in Therapeutic Radiology credentialed from the American Board of Radiology obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date required. Must be board eligible upon hire or job transfer date. Certification must be in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
