Texas Oncology is searching for a Certified Medical Physicist to join our East Texas Physics POD (Longview/Tyler/Palestine). The Medical Physicist will be actively working with 4 other physicists and 6 dosimetrists in the region. Requirements

• Master’s or PhD degree in Medical physics from a CAMPEP accredited program
• Graduate from a CAMPEP accredited residency program
• ABR board certification or in the process of obtaining certification (e.g. new resident graduate)
• Eligibility for a Texas license
• Strong organization and oral\written communication skills
• Must have the ability to utilize components of the treatment-planning computer including but not limited to the use of keyboards, digitizers, trackball and mouse controls.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours; lift 40 pound block to shoulder level; have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish structures and isodose displays on computer monitor.
• Additionally, must be able to align treatment field and monitor patient during radiation therapy treatment.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of Varian linear accelerators as well as Varian VariSource\Bravos HDR afterloader
• Working knowledge of Eclipse and Brachyvision
• A working knowledge of MOSAIQ Radiation Oncology Information System
• Working knowledge of HDR, SBRT and SRS procedures
• Working knowledge of Radiation safety
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of radiation oncology physics, including a good working knowledge of SRS, SBRT and HDR.
