About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology, serving an outpatient setting across multiple facilities. The role involves direct patient care, quality assurance, and treatment planning. Credentialing is expected to begin immediately upon provider approval, with NRC/State RAM licensing typically taking around 30 days. The operational schedule is hourly, with engagement on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The patient population is diverse, primarily outpatients, with occasional inpatient referrals for symptom management. The average daily patient load across three locations is approximately 60-70. Aria is used as the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Only local providers will be considered, with reimbursement limited to mileage.

Requirements

  • Board Certified by either the ABR or ABMP
  • Local providers only
  • Active Michigan medical license
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience
  • Clean background check with no malpractice claims or licensing issues

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of relevant experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Chart evaluations (initial and weekly)
  • Machine quality assurance (QA)
  • High-dose rate (HDR) treatment planning and administration
  • Supervision of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) treatments
