The University of Miami/UHealth has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Medical Physicist Assistant 1 to work at the UHealth Medical Campus in Miami, FL. The Medical Physicist Assistant 1 performs tasks in support of a Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP) in the professional practice of clinical medical physics within the radiotherapy clinic. The general responsibilities of the Medical Physicist Assistant 1 including, performing routine machine and patient specific quality assurance (QA), participation in development and implementation of new technology and processes, and support in the acceptance testing and commissioning of new treatment machine. Reviews adherence to established radiation safety protocols and explores possibilities for improvements. Does initial investigation of various radiation safety incidents. Collects performance data on radiation producing equipment for QMP review. Identifies areas of weakness in existing program areas and recommends corrections to QMP. At the direction of a QMP responds to client requests for on-site support. Identifies and collects necessary supporting documentation to assist a QMP in preparing regulatory communications. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
