About The Position

The Medical Personnel of Serenity Hills are responsible for all medical aspects of the Detoxification day-to-day operation; and the health and medical aspects of the Halfway House Program as indicated. They serve a primary role in the care of clients in detoxification; and a secondary role in the care of clients in the Halfway House Program. This is a full-time, overnight position with a consistent overnight schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications.
  • This position requires access to Electronic Personal Health Information (EPHI).
  • Current HSA Policies and Procedures apply.
  • It is the responsibility of the employee to read, understand, and comply with HSA policies and procedures that apply to protected information and security.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of education and/or experience in the chemical dependency or mental health field preferred.
  • Current South Dakota licensure/certification as an LPN, EMT, or CNA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts medical admission assessments, ongoing assessments, and medical interventions for clients in the Detoxification and Halfway House Programs.
  • Provides client orientation, health and nutrition education, medication administration/assistance, and psychological support as indicated.
  • Monitors client condition, safety, and compliance with program schedules and responds to crises in a calm and effective manner.
  • Develops and assists with discharge and aftercare planning.
  • Maintains a safe, healthy, and secure environment by identifying and addressing potential safety hazards and enforcing applicable safety and fire procedures.
  • Maintains accurate medical records and performs related administrative duties.
  • Assists with facility operations as needed, including meals, laundry, filing, purchasing, housekeeping, quality assurance, and other duties necessary to support program operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned consistent with the position.
