About The Position

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join their well-established, thriving, and comprehensive practice in Yakima, WA. This role is part of the MultiCare Cancer Institute, a physician-led, multi-specialty group within MultiCare Health System. The institute delivers integrated hematology, oncology, radiation, surgical, and supportive care across Washington state, diagnosing and treating over 6,000 new cancer cases annually. The Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care as part of a multidisciplinary oncology team within a Commission on Cancer (CoC)-accredited comprehensive cancer program. The position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of building the APP program, working directly with the medical director and interim clinic manager. The facility provides hematology-oncology, radiation oncology, physical therapy, lymphedema treatment, and an infusion center under one roof. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Current ARNP certification and licensure in Washington State
DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

Provides specialized care for patients undergoing cancer treatment, including administering systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted agents.
Assess and manage treatment-related symptoms.
Coordinate care across disciplines, and support patients through education, counseling, and survivorship planning.
Work alongside oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate holistic patient care.
Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
Offer clear guidance on follow up care, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications to support informed decision-making.
Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
Document all patient interactions and clinical decisions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Stay current with oncology best practices, emerging therapies, and clinical guidelines through continuing education and training.
