St. Mary’s Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Medical Oncologist to join our dedicated oncology team. Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of New York
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and patient-centered empathetic communication skills
  • Adherence to Standard Precautions and utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced training in Hematology/Oncology or additional subspecialty certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a variety of cancer types with evidence-based therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, and palliative care specialists.
  • Provide compassionate patient education and counseling, ensuring patients and families understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
  • Participate in tumor boards and case reviews to enhance care coordination and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Stay current with emerging cancer treatments and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with oncology nurses, pharmacists, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Contribute to community outreach and cancer prevention initiatives to enhance local healthcare access.
