Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of one-year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • CPR-preferred
  • Will be required to travel to satellite offices including but not limited to: Lutherville

Nice To Haves

  • Open to individuals who have finished their Medical Assistant (MA) program or those in need of clinical hours before starting graduate school (18-24 months required).
  • This position is a traveling Medical Assistant/Medical Office Specialist who will be primarily supporting providers downtown and at the Lutherville office.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Front/Back office duties to various gastroenterology providers in an outpatient setting.
  • Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures.
  • Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or fees as needed.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and other callers.
  • Complete patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR).
  • Administer injections and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers. (on-site training provided)
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, including specimen collection and processing.
  • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
