Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of one year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • CPR-preferred
  • Adolescents
  • Adults
  • Geriatrics
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Meditech (if applicable to position), Epic (if applicable to position), Performance Manager/NetLearning
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • May be required to travel to satellite offices

Responsibilities

  • Provide front desk and back office support for Cardiology providers.
  • Perform patient check-in, verify insurance and requirements (referrals/authorizations), collect co-pays, and schedule visits, testing, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles appropriate for the ages of patients served and apply these principles when providing individualized patient care.
  • Provide general Medical Assistant assistance to the Provider in an outpatient setting, including EKGs and taking vitals (including manual blood pressures).
  • Support the goals and mission of Mercy Medical Center, particularly the commitment to providing easy access to high-quality care, service, and value.
  • May be required to travel to hubsites as needed.
