About The Position

The Medical Office Receptionist at Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves managing patient check-in and check-out processes, handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, and ensuring all necessary patient and insurance information is accurately recorded in the electronic medical record. The role requires a strong focus on compliance with clinic and regulatory policies, efficient patient flow, and excellent customer service. THPG is a large group of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants dedicated to quality patient care across the DFW Metroplex, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Knowledge of clinic procedures and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient check-in at the time of visit and completes all necessary paperwork to ensure efficiency and compliance with clinic and regulatory policies.
  • Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
  • Schedules appointments according to office guidelines.
  • Obtains accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts.
  • Copies/scans patient access related hard copy materials into the correct location in the electronic medical record.
  • Prepares charts for patient appointments, ensuring all necessary information is complete.
  • Conducts all functions associated with patient check-out, including pricing services, collecting patient responsibility payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Performs duties involving record filing and retrieval and assisting with the filing of registration documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Confirms next day appointments and alerts patients about needed documentation and time-of-service payment details.
  • Follows up with patients regarding the Missed Appointment Policy and sends appropriate communications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
