About The Position

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Shared First Sequence Instructor for its Las Vegas campus. This part-time role involves guiding entry-level students through essential foundational modules across the Medical Assistant (MA), Healthcare Administration Certificate (HCAC), and Medical Billing & Coding (MBC) programs. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare professional with a passion for administrative medical workflows and patient care, looking to share their expertise on a convenient evening schedule.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Healthcare Administration program recognized by the USDE or CHEA (or equivalent recognized training entity) AND three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience in Healthcare Administration.
  • OR A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for instructors who are not graduates of an accredited Healthcare Administration program.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and general computer applications.
  • Current license, certification, or other designation as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the Healthcare Administration or clinical field.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience as a Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or clinical care provider is highly desirable and preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans for students, including scheduled classroom activities and module materials.
  • Plan instruction to achieve specific learning objectives based on student needs and established curriculum standards.
  • Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations in core healthcare administrative and clinical office skills.
  • Evaluate student performance regarding achievements in the curriculum and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records in accordance with established institutional policies.
  • Assist, advise, and mentor students through the First Sequence curriculum.
  • Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to local clinics and medical offices.
  • Monitor students in the classroom and lab environments to ensure safety precautions and biohazard protocols are strictly followed.
