This position requires flexibility and job skills associated with office management and clinical competencies. Office Management includes but not limited to general operations and administration of a medical office. Ensures office runs smoothly by supervising office staff (i.e. employed, contracted, or subcontracted), responsible for ordering supplies, oversight of office cleanliness (i.e. housekeeping services), and any computer related functions associated with patient care. Must be able to greet patients, prepare and collect completed necessary forms. Follow established protocols of computer system, enters and updates patient/insurance data, schedules appointments, collect patient out-of-pocket amounts including copays, deductible, co-insurance, and any outstanding balances, process payments, compiles Daily Journal and Deposit. Performs various clerical duties such as answering telephones, recording messages, preparing physician schedules, maintaining a “clean” work area. Clinical competency includes but not limited to the ability to exhibit and perform Medical Assistant clinical skills by enhancing the doctor/patient relationship within the healthcare office. A responsible Medical Assistant, capable of performing and expanding the role of assisting/nursing in the clinic setting. General summary of responsibilities will include assuming an organizational and leadership position, encouraging an optimum environment of communication, performance, and customer service, among fellow employees and customer.
