About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Medical Office Associate I in Endocrinology, working from 8 am to 4 pm. The role involves providing administrative support within a medical practice, ensuring efficient patient flow and accurate record-keeping.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Prior administrative experience in a physician practice strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of computerized scheduling & EMR system a plus
  • Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Knowledge of how to assist patients in a timely manner with concerns and/or complaints
  • Proficient in patient registration, appointments, scheduling, arrival appointments, EMR phone notes, indexing documents within EMR, telephone etiquette
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Basic problem solving and decision-making skills required
  • Must operate standard office machines and equipment such as photocopiers, PC, fax, scanner, general office and communications equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge regarding medical terminology, insurance, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

  • Answer and handle phone calls in a timely and efficient manner, utilizing appropriate telephone etiquette.
  • Appropriately schedule patient appointments, selecting the correct visit type and length.
  • Greet patients promptly upon arrival, accurately collect and document time-of-service payments.
  • Verify and collect demographics, emergency contact information, and insurance information.
  • Correctly register patients in the system, including completing registration paperwork.
  • Accurately enter information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Use EMR for prescriptions, phone notes, referrals, outreach, and check-out.
  • Manage reporting, surgical scheduling, authorizations, and referrals.
  • Maintain adequate supply inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel to other practices as required by practice leadership.
