About The Position

Oneida Health is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant for their Chittenango Family Care practice. This role combines clinical and administrative duties and reports to the Practice Manager of Chittenango Health Center. The ideal candidate will possess a strong customer service attitude, be capable of working independently and as part of a team, and have a positive demeanor. Prior medical experience is considered a plus.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
1 year of Computer Skills experience (Required)

Nice To Haves

Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
1 year of Medical Office experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Utilize a customer service attitude for all patient interactions, both in person and over the telephone.
Act as a keen observer while collecting and recording patient data.
Address the needs of patients, visitors, co-workers, and the practice in a positive and timely manner.
Demonstrate strong computer skills.
Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients, including infection prevention techniques according to hospital standards.
Assist providers with procedures and examinations.
Perform treatments and procedures as directed.
Reassure patients about wait times and delays, while prioritizing acutely ill patients.
Maintain medical records accurately.
Check equipment and stock supplies as needed.
Place supply and pharmacy orders.
Facilitate and execute physician orders as directed.
Coordinate and schedule referrals and surgeries.
