About The Position

Honeycomb Management Group is a Managed Services Organization that manages primary care and specialty care practices with multiple locations in Memphis, Tennessee, and Mississippi. They are looking for a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join their team and provide compassionate, patient-centered care. The MOA plays a critical role in assisting healthcare providers with direct patient care. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience, strong knowledge of medical terminology, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a patient-focused attitude.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Five (5) years of Medical Office experience (Required)
  • Ability to proficiently operate and perform computer-related tasks with specific office equipment and software applications (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Office Assistant (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and prepares medical records to ensure completeness prior to patient exam, obtaining missing documentation.
  • Documents clinic visit in EMR system.
  • Greets patients, checks-in patients, verifies and validates patient information.
  • Performs clerical duties and completes work lists, and other administrative duties during admin-time.
  • Schedules patient appointments in EMR system, ensuring patient information is accurate and the patient is scheduled as required, per provider scheduling procedures.
  • Obtains, verifies, and updates patient insurance information.
  • Requests, locates, sends, receives, and maintains office/department and patient records.
  • Exhibits an excellent and high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensures patients complete registration forms and other required forms at check-in.
  • Ensures compliance with legal issues including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality workflow procedures and metrics.
  • Provides Medical Office Assistant clinical support for other site locations as needed.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as required.
