About The Position

Provide exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience at our medical office. Support the day-to-day operations of the medical office, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and assisting with billing and insurance processes. Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with patients and colleagues. Demonstrate a strong attention to detail in all tasks, including accurately inputting and maintaining patient information. Utilize excellent communication skills to effectively relay information to patients and colleagues. Display a high level of empathy and compassion towards patients, understanding their needs and concerns. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures within the medical office to enhance patient care and satisfaction. Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and provide the highest quality of care. Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and contribute to a positive and cohesive work environment. Pursue opportunities for growth and development within the organization.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education required.
  • One year of customer service experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize work, provide excellent verbal and written communication, interact tactfully with customers and establish and maintain effective relationships with others.
  • Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting.
  • Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions.
  • Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors.
  • Frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing 20 lbs (+/-) unassisted.
  • Lift from 36" to overhead 15 lbs.
  • Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare front desk experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and welcomes patients and families in person or on the telephone.
  • Optimizes the patients’ experience and clinic efficiency time by scheduling appointments appropriately, either by phone or in person.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information accurately and effectively.
  • Collects Co-pays and prior patient balances.
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
