The Orange County Health Department has an opening for a Medical Office Assistant. The work involves responsibility for assisting individuals and families who are recipients of health services and providing administrative support to the Health Clinic of the Orange County Health Department. Typical work functions include, but are not limited to, scheduling patient appointments, checking patients in and out, preparing patient charts, answering phones, scanning documents and preparing Release of Information requests. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Patient Accounts Manager with some leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work, and in making decisions regarding needs and requests.
