Requirements

  • Possess and maintain a current, unrestricted, complete, and active graduate professional nurse and nurse practitioner registration in Massachusetts.
  • Obtain certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Be compassionate, sensitive, and possess strong reasoning and thinking skills.
  • Possess strong computer skills, including experience with electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Providing outpatient and inpatient care to patients experiencing changes or decline in mental status, or managing chronic or urgent medical conditions.
  • Working independently within the medical team, with specific responsibilities delegated by the Chief of Medical Services.
  • Participating in an interdisciplinary team to provide patient care.
  • Performing medical evaluations, risk factor assessments and analysis, ordering diagnostic and therapeutic tests, and conducting consultations and appointments.
  • Prescribing medications in accordance with clinic policy, formulary, and relevant state regulations.
  • Consulting with physicians on cases that exceed the scope of an Advanced Practice Nurse's qualifications.
  • Documenting all relevant patient data in the electronic medical record and case presentations.
  • Ensuring effective communication with other health professionals to facilitate seamless clinic service delivery to patients.
  • Providing consultations to program staff to enhance the overall quality of clinic service delivery.
