About The Position

A mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is seeking an experienced Medical Manager to provide operational and clinical leadership across its medical clinic operations. This role is responsible for ensuring high standards of clinical quality, patient service, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day clinic operations. The Medical Manager will lead and develop clinical support staff, oversee nursing functions, and partner closely with executive and medical leadership to ensure the organization delivers safe, efficient, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with strong healthcare leadership experience who is comfortable balancing people management, clinical oversight, and clinic operations. Experience within an FQHC, community health center, primary care setting, or similar safety-net healthcare environment is highly preferred.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice required.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification shortly after hire.
Minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare environment.
Minimum of two years of demonstrated supervisory or people-management experience.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and supervision to clinical support staff across assigned clinic operations.
Oversee the clinical supervision and performance of nursing staff, including RNs and LPNs.
Hire, onboard, coach, develop, and evaluate employees.
Manage employee scheduling, attendance, leave requests, and staffing coverage.
Partner with Human Resources and the Chief Operations Officer on employee relations, performance management, and corrective action when necessary.
Lead regular staff meetings and maintain consistent communication with clinic teams.
Support the training and supervision of students participating in internships or externships.
Serve as a clinical and operational resource for medical clinic personnel.
Ensure clinics consistently operate according to established quality, service, and organizational standards.
Monitor the quality of nursing judgment, clinical documentation, patient safety, and staff safety.
Identify operational challenges and work collaboratively with leadership to implement solutions.
Oversee medical supply inventory and help ensure appropriate resources are available to clinic teams.
Participate in budget planning and management as it relates to assigned clinic operations.
Provide regular reporting and communication to executive leadership regarding clinic activities, staffing, performance, and progress toward established objectives.
Oversee the delivery of evaluation, treatment, and consultation services within the clinic.
Collaborate with medical and operational leadership to develop and maintain policies and procedures for medical operations.
Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing and medical support staff.
Ensure appropriate patient education, medication administration, testing, referrals, and follow-up are completed according to organizational standards.
Serve as a resource to clinical staff when questions or urgent patient-care situations arise.
Support direct patient care when necessary and within the scope of the individual’s licensure, training, and capabilities.
Ensure clinical documentation and required paperwork are completed accurately and within established timelines.
Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure adherence to patient privacy requirements.
Support organizational compliance with applicable federal, state, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
Participate in infection control, emergency preparedness, immunization initiatives, and workplace safety programs.
Ensure clinic operations comply with applicable accreditation and regulatory standards, including requirements related to OSHA, CLIA, Patient-Centered Medical Home standards, and other healthcare regulations.
Assist leadership with public health initiatives and regulatory requirements affecting medical clinic operations.
