About The Position

Hancock Daniel, a nationally recognized health law firm, is hiring a civil litigation Associate Attorney with experience in complex defense work or medical malpractice to join our Medical Malpractice Defense Team in Richmond, Virginia. This role offers meaningful, hands-on litigation work from the start, including case evaluation, client interaction, engagement with medical experts, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, trial preparation, and courtroom exposure. The firm is committed to investing in attorney development through personalized mentorship, substantive experience, and opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice in Virginia, or ability to waive in
  • 3-10 years of litigation experience (preferably in medical malpractice or civil defense)
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Familiarity with medical terminology—or willingness to learn
  • A commitment to exceptional client service and continuous learning
