Perez Morris is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Malpractice Associate to join our Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical and legal issues, strong research and writing skills, and experience assisting with cases from initial filing through resolution.

Requirements

  • Associate with 1-2 years of experience handling the defense of medical malpractice or personal injury litigation.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure cases and manage complex litigation matters.
  • Commitment to client service and ethical legal practice.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong writing and legal research skills, and a strong work ethic.
  • Entrepreneurial growth mindset for client development and practice management.
  • Values collaboration and diverse perspectives and can work with a team to creatively solve problems.
  • Willingness to be a productive member of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Independently handle case management, legal research, motion practice, discovery, client communications, and court appearances.
  • Skilled in all aspects of litigation strategy from drafting pleadings, responding to written discovery motions and discovery demands, preparing motions, to negotiating settlements and preparing witnesses for trial.
  • Serve as the primary contact for corporate clients and insurers, providing regular updates, case assessments, and litigation plans.
  • Independently manage an assigned caseload and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of legal practice.
  • Provide strategic counsel and legal advice to clients throughout the litigation process.
