About The Position
To provide language assistance by means of verbal interpretations for all medical communications between UTMB's staff and patients, patients' families, and visitors.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of medical interpreting experience
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English and Spanish
- Pass UTMB approved verbal and written proficiency testing in English and Spanish
- Customer Service Experience
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Experience with multi-line phones
- Experience acting as a liaison between patients, clinical staff, and advocates
- Professional and phone etiquette
- Large database and PC experience
