Medical Laboratory Technologist
About The Position
Dynacare is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their Microbiology team in Brampton, Ontario. This role is responsible for delivering the highest level of clinical and scientific quality in a timely manner, utilizing a variety of testing methods and the latest technology. The contributions made in this role are critical, as the results and reports generated will significantly impact downstream solutions and treatments for physicians, potentially saving lives. The position is casual, with various shifts including Tuesdays to Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The work style is onsite.
Requirements
- Ability to thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self-manage in fast-paced environment.
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to fit within a collaborative working environment.
- CMLTO Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level.
- Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Microbiology.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
- Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results.
- Maintaining accuracy of appropriate documents.
- Troubleshooting of clinical assays and equipment.
- Identifying and reporting of incidents and non-conformities.
