Requirements

  • Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology (Required)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, professional attitude with excellent bedside manner
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Understanding of health/safety guidelines and healthcare regulations
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver exceptional service
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and follow established protocols
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Use hands for fine motor tasks and equipment handling
  • Bend, twist, and move freely throughout the shift
  • Communicate clearly and understand others
  • Perform minimal lifting
  • Visually inspect samples and equipment both up close and at a distance

Nice To Haves

  • ASCP or equivalent certification (Preferred)
  • 1+ year preferred - Recent MLT grads encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and resolve specimen collection/processing issues
  • Perform and report in-house testing (Hematology, Coag, Chemistry, Serology, UA, Microscopy, Blood Bank, Phlebotomy)
  • Conduct complex analyses, troubleshoot deviations, and maintain precision
  • Review QC results and take corrective actions
  • Prepare blood components and perform compatibility testing
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analyzers and lab equipment
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and ancillary departments
  • Provide accurate medical technology information
  • Maintain workflow and support interdepartmental cooperation
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
  • Report critical/panic values promptly
  • Perform proficiency testing and support QA functions
  • Complete clerical tasks associated with testing and reporting
  • Participate in ongoing education and training
  • Other duties as assigned
