About The Position
The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs both routine and advanced test procedures, as necessary, for the efficient functioning of his/her area of assignment. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program
- Current or eligible for registration with the CMLTO in the disciplines of Blood Bank, Hematology and Biochemistry
- Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
- Able to exercise initiative in problem solving
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and good judgement in a stressful environment
- Ability to organize, prioritize and adapt to constant changing priorities.
- Computer literate (LIS, word processing and spreadsheet programs)
- Be familiar with phlebotomy techniques and all types of blood collection.
- Competency as described in the Competency Profile – General Medical Laboratory Technologist, as published by the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)

- Preferably at least two years recent technical experience in a core lab
