About The Position

Under the direction of the Laboratory/Radiology Director, Laboratory Supervisor, and Radiology Supervisor, this role performs various laboratory and radiology functions as per mandated regulations. These functions include chemistry, microscopic, serologic, hematologic, parasitic, and bacteriologic testing, as well as radiological bone procedures for disease treatment and diagnosis. The position is responsible for receiving specimens in the laboratory and obtaining bodily material. The technologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding the principles of growth and development over the life span and identifying and categorizing each patient’s age-specific grouping of need (infant, adolescent, or geriatric). The role also ensures compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations, JCAHO Standards, and Compliance Standards.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • At least one-year experience in a laboratory/radiology setting required.
  • Must be proficient in phlebotomy and in basic laboratory and radiology procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of approved program in medical technology and in radiology technology preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Technologists preferred.
  • MT/MLT preferred.
